What is Computer firewalls?

A computer firewall is a network security system application that monitors and controls all incoming and outgoing network traffic based on its predefined security rules. It acts as a barrier or a strong bricked wall that protects system from untrustworthy external network while on system internal internet.

Types of Computer firewalls:

Firewalls are of different types, typically they are best categorized as packet-filtering firewalls, circuit-level gateways, stateful inspection firewalls, and application-level gateways also knows as proxy firewalls. Some others are next-gen firewalls, software firewalls, hardware firewalls, cloud firewalls.

How it's work?

On Windows PC, windows defender firewall is generally used to block attacks by Trojans, viruses, malware, worms etc. It downloads up-to-date virus definitions regularly for its proper working.
Though firewalls are preinstalled software on windows, users have others choices as well for better firewall software applications like GlassWire, ZoneAlarm, TinyWall, NetDefender, Comodo Firewall. Some of them are freeware and can be downloaded externally. Some AntiVirus softwares could also boost performance of internal firewall like Avast, QuickHeal, Kaspersky, BitDefender and so on.
