What is Data compressing?

Data Compression:

If there are large number of files, and you want to transfer it from one device to another, you need to select each file and then you need to transfer. But if all of these files are compressed then it will be easy to transfer.

Compressing the images and videos and other files benefits the user in several ways like:

1.Compressed folder are more secured, they will not get affected to any virus easily as compared to normal folder.
2.Compressed folder decreases the size of the files and thus help to decrease the storage use.
3.Compressed folder can be easily shared through internet.

How it works?

Compression is done at various level and with different ways.Data compression is the process of modifying,converting the bits structure of data in such a way that it consumes less space on disk.A common data compression technique removes and replaces repetitive data elements and symbols to reduce the data size. Data compression for graphical data can be lossless compression or lossy compression, where the former saves all replaces but save all repetitive data and the latter deletes all repetitive data.

Tools for data compressing:

There are various software available for compression and decompression of data. WINRAR, ZIPFILE etc are the major software used for this process.
